Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Veenue, a company registered in The Gambia ("Veenue", "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Veenue apps, veenue.io, or any event or plan page we host (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and to the policies they refer to: the Customer Policy, Organizer Policy, Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Veenue.

1. Definitions

  • User: anyone using Veenue.
  • Customer: a user who buys, holds or receives a ticket.
  • Organizer: a user who creates events or runs an organizer page, together with their team.
  • Event: anything listed on Veenue by an Organizer.
  • Content: anything users post, such as text, photos, comments, ratings, polls and plans.

2. Your account

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. Some events have their own age limits.

2.2 Signing in

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep access to your phone secure: you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away at support@veenue.io if you think someone else has access.

2.3 Accurate information

Give accurate details and keep them up to date. One person, one account. Organizers must pass our verification.

3. Using Veenue

You agree not to:

  • use Veenue for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful;
  • list misleading events, sell fake tickets, or interfere with other users' purchases;
  • avoid fees, for example by moving sales for a Veenue-ticketed event off the platform;
  • resell tickets for profit without the Organizer's permission;
  • scrape, copy or overload the Service, or try to get around its security or limits;
  • create accounts in bulk, or abuse invitations, promotions or credit;
  • break our Community Guidelines.

4. Tickets (Customers)

Buying a ticket is governed by the Customer Policy, which covers cancellations, refunds and transfers. The contract for the event itself is between you and the Organizer. Veenue sells the ticket on the Organizer's behalf and isn't responsible for how the event is run.

If you dispute a payment with your provider instead of contacting us, we may suspend your account while it's resolved.

5. Events and payouts (Organizers)

Organizers are governed by the Organizer Policy, which covers fees, balances, payouts and cancellations. Organizers are solely responsible for their events, including safety, permits and legal compliance, and for the accuracy of their listings.

6. Payments

Payments and payouts are processed by Wave, under Wave's own terms. Prices are shown in the event's local currency. Currently that's CFA francs (XOF) or Gambian dalasi (GMD). Your payment provider may charge its own fees or conversion costs.

7. Credit and promotions

We may offer promotional credit, invitation rewards or organizer bonuses. Each promotion has its own terms, including limits and expiry dates. Credit has no cash value, can't be transferred or withdrawn, and can be withdrawn by us if it was obtained through abuse or error. We can change or end a promotion at any time. Credit you've already earned is honoured under the terms in place when you earned it, unless it was obtained improperly.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post. You give Veenue a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt and share it to run and promote the Service, for example to feature an event on veenue.io or on social media. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared or kept for legal reasons.

You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

Plan and event links are designed to be shared. Anyone with a link can see that page, including its title and the names of people who have answered.

9. Veenue's content and brand

The Veenue apps, website, name and logo belong to us. You may not copy or use them without our written permission, apart from sharing links and event pages as intended.

10. Third-party services

Veenue works with services such as Wave, WhatsApp, Google Maps and Apple and Google Wallet. Their own terms apply to them, and we're not responsible for them.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts, remove content or events, or hold payouts if you break these terms, if we suspect fraud, or if we're required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile.

12. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Veenue running and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We're not responsible for Organizers' events, including cancellations, changes, injuries, loss or damage at an event, except where the law says we must be.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Veenue isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Veenue for the ticket or tickets concerned, and never more than D5,000 (five thousand Gambian dalasi) in total. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or any rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

14. Indemnity

If you're an Organizer, you agree to cover Veenue's reasonable losses and costs arising from your events, your content, or your breach of these terms or the law.

15. Disputes and governing law

Please contact legal@veenue.io first. Most problems can be solved quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of The Gambia, and the courts of The Gambia have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.

16. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by message before it takes effect. If you keep using Veenue after that, you accept the new terms.
